Matrix muffler is a kind of muffler, which is designed based on the phenomena of reflection, interference and absorption of sound waves between the orifice plate and the partition plate. Specifically, when the sound wave passes through the aperture plate and is reflected by the partition plate, an interference effect will occur, i.e. the original sound wave and the reflected sound wave will interfere with each other when they meet. If the two waves are in the same phase at the time of interference, they reinforce each other and produce peaks; if they are in opposite phases, they cancel each other out and produce valleys. This interference effect can be used for muffling, i.e., by adjusting the position and number of perforated plates and partitions, the reflected sound waves will be in opposite phases, so as to achieve the effect of muffling.
